A Visit from The Batu Tourism & Culture Officers

The head of the Promotion and Marketing division at Batu City Tourism and Culture Office, Catur Puspo Asmoro, S.Sos, M.AP requested Tristar Institute Batu to perform All Out at BATU STREET FOOD FESTIVAL.

 Mr. Catur Puspo Asmoro, S.Sos, M.AP, and his staff came directly at Tristar Culinary Institute Batu campus on Monday (10/14/2019) after being invited.

His arrival was accompanied by Liza Yossana Lucas, the Section Chief of Market Information and Analysis, Ni Luh Made Anggraini, the Section Chief of Promotion and Cooperation, and F. Yanareka, the staff of Market Information and Analysis section.

All of the guests were welcomed by the head of Tristar Culinary Institute Batu, Chef Yuda Agustian, A.Md. Par., S.T.P., M. M.Par, along with the vice head, Chef Lily Andayani, S.T., M.M.Par, and the lecturers, Chef Thomas and Chef Agung Kurnia. 

According to Chef Yuda, the visit was a result of a cooperation proposal that was initiated by Tristar Group team and offered to the Mayor of Batu City, Dra. Hj. Dewanti Rumpoko, M. Si on the 24th of September 2019.

"Chef Lily, Mr. Peter, and I joined the regular meeting in the Batu City Town Hall to introduce Tristar Culinary Institute and Akpar Majapahit as the higher education institutions in Batu city which concentrated on the culinary and tourism fields," explained Chef Yuda.

Tristar Institute Batu and Akpar Majapahit wanted to contribute actively to the culinary and tourism sectors in the city of Batu such as participating in one of the activities held to celebrate the city’s anniversary. Some of the activities that would be held were Developing the Potential of Tourism Village, Processed Products from the City’s Agricultural Resources, and so on.

"We are very grateful because our proposal was responded by the city’s Tourism and Culture Office. The response is shown by sending the department’s representatives to visit Tristar Culinary Institute campus at Jl. Bukit Berbunga No 10 Sidomulyo, Batu. The representatives were the Head of Promotion and Marketing division, Catur Puspo Asmoro, and staff," said Chef Yuda.

To welcome the honored guests, Tristar Culinary Institute Batu performed two attractions. First, a special performance by our Hibachi Teppanyaki Chef Thomas Denny, the senior lecturer of Tristar Group, with his Hibachi Crew, led by Gustianca. Second, Spinning Pizza attraction by Chef Agung Kurnia. 

Catur Puspo Asmoro requested Tristar Culinary Institute Batu to perform in the arena of BSFF (Batu Street Food Festival) event to celebrate the 18th anniversary of Batu City. The event would last for two days, Saturday and Sunday, 2 - 3 November 2019 at the Among Tani Batu City Hall.

A variety of Indonesian dishes was displayed and offered by dozens of hotels and restaurants from Malang area. Tristar Institute Batu itself had two booths displaying and selling various forms of cookies and dishes made from strawberry which is one of the popular commodities in the city of Batu. 

"It is an extraordinary honor for us to be able to participate in this great event. We will try to present the best and we expect to collaborate more actively in the culinary and tourism sectors in the city," Chef Yuda responded enthusiastically. 

"Moreover," continued Chef Yuda, "This BSFF event will become an opportunity for our students to have direct interaction not only with the hospitality and restaurant industries involved at the event but also the city’s residents in general." // bahar(translated by AD)
